Elementary Occupational and Environmental Health
It is a basic and introductory course for students intending to study in any discipline of occupational and environmental health sciences. General basic principles in the practice of occupational and environmental health and hygiene will be introduced. Other topics include toxicology, hazards, ergonomics and safety in the workplace.
Occupational & Environmental Hygiene Surveillance and Health Monitoring
It is a follow-up of the course Elementary Occupational and Environmental Health for the students who want to specialize in the discipline of occupational and environmental hygiene. This course will introduce common occupational diseases, hygiene monitoring and risk management.
Occupational & Environmental Hygiene Evaluation and Instrumentation
This course is specially designed for occupational health and hygiene learners. This course emphasizes both theoretical and practical experience of instrumentation in the assessment of working environment. General and basic principles of sampling, risk assessment, measurement and analysis methods will be covered.
Emerging Topics on Occupational and Environmental Health
This course will introduce emerging hot topics in the discipline of occupational and environmental health. It covers up-to-date information on occupational health services, climate change and the role of occupational and environmental health, safety culture, shiftwork and health impact, ageing workforce etc.
Practical Work in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene
This course emphasizes practical work in the discipline of occupational and environmental hygiene. It covers the essentials of routine hygiene surveys for hazard control, and accident investigation for prevention. Students will need to demonstrate competency in utilizing knowledge and skills acquired during this programme to complete the project. In addition, basic principles of epidemiology and biostatistics as well as skills of critical appraisal for occupational and environmental health studies will be introduced.
