LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon the completion of this programme, graduates will have acquired the ability to:

  • gain knowledge occupational and environmental diseases and related skills on occupational health practice and occupational injury  case management;

  • identify, evaluate, prevent and manage occupational and environmental hazards in workplace and provide recommendations to the relevant parties;

  • conduct health risk assessment, plan and evaluate occupational rehabilitation programmes;

  • apply theory and principles of occupational and environmental health practice in policy design and healthcare case management. ​

TARGET STUDENTS

This programme is specially designed for healthcare professionals (e.g. nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists) and occupational medicine case manager/return to work coordinators who need to handle occupational diseases and work-related health problems in hospitals and clinics.

REMARKS

Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health Practice was phased out in 2010. CUHK decides to re-launch the current programme and retitle it as Professional Diploma Programme, which is at the same level with enhanced content of the previous Postgraduate Diploma Programme, including an additional introduction to environmental health and emerging issues on occupational and environmental health.
